Day of leisure - literally

We had big plans for today. I won't even bore you with the list of many options we had to choose from. Because, we didn't do any of them!  See, what had happened was . . . We had one of those days when the spirit was eager but the flesh was very, very weak and tired!

For some reason (aka, lack of sleep), the party crew was not able to release the pillows today. We woke up, hit the snooze, fell asleep again and when we finally rolled out of bed, we looked like this:

It is almost unbelievable what 12 hours of sleep can do for a person.  And I honestly felt like I could sleep a while longer.  But since the Porchia's left for their much anticipated shopping extravaganza, Samone convinced me to at least get up for some nourishment.  I felt really bad that the housekeeper was waiting outside all day to clean the room (Excusez-moi).

Food
The food here has been amazing!  I don't know what all the fuss is about with French cuisine but if you make a gourmet grilled ham and cheese sandwich and put an egg on top of it and fries underneath, it's nothing but goodness on a plate!  (Merci beaucoup)

And the French pastries make me want to leave my nose print on the glass case

Friends
It's nice to have Samone with us. She is getting ready to start regular pioneering in September!  We are so excited for her to join the ranks.  It's so good to serve Jehovah with friends I've known since childhood.  And I think it's cute that we are kind of matching today - Twinkies!

Hey Barb, That's Temairra from KC in the middle

Fun
So what are Sunday afternoons like in Paris?  Dancing in the street!  We enjoyed our fro-yo watching the French dance to country music. They even fooled us when we heard the cha-cha slide but their version was not Chicago-style.  Don't miss the Asian man in the black cowboy hat - when will I ever see that again?

Show 'em how we do it, Samone!

  7. Bon Jour! I'm seeing a lot of French pastry/bakery pictures, but not a lot of eating them. Indulge a little! Diet waits back in America, not in foreign countries haha.
    Take care everyone.
