Oh What a Night!

One of the highlights of each International Convention is the special evening gathering of delegates with the local friends.  And while each event is memorable, the Estonian experience was absolutely amazing.  The hard work and creativity of the friends was so impressive, it felt like we were at a Broadway play in NYC.

There was first a video presentation of older ones sharing their experiences during past times of persecution.  We were able to see and hear first hand accounts from ones like Ella Toom and Corinna Ennika (Read yb2011 for more on their stories).  The one thing that stuck with me from these spiritual giants was the reminder of how important prayer proved to be during their troublesome season.  And also, the lessons learned: obedience, how little we really needed to survive, and the value of complete trust in Jehovah and his people.

Then there was a drama with some video/real-life re-enactments of heroes in our midst.  I really appreciated how this reminded us of how much we can learn from older ones in our congregations.  This segment was concluded with the song "The Best Life  Ever"

And finallly there was a cultural folk music and dance segment with audience participation.

Can you find our dear Bro Mark Noumair in this picture (hint: gray suit on the far right)

The videos are amazing - wish I could figure out how to send.  Guess I'll have to save some things to show you when I get home!
